The West Louisville Performing Arts Academy (formerly the West Louisville Boys Choir and West Louisville Girls Choir) was established in 1990 by McDaniel Bluitt, a retired music teacher with twenty-eight years of experience in the Jefferson Country Public School system. The West Louisville Performing Arts Academy (WLPAA) is a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit organization whose mission is to create artistic opportunities for Louisville youth ages 8-19. Our focas is on artistic development and academic proficiency. Together these sound life skills are necessary to enable our youth to become productive members of our community .
Participants meet up, two to four nights per week for rehearsals, tutoring sessions, and leadership training. The WLPAA currently averages two concerts per month.
